Josh Neufeld, Professor at the Department of Biology of the University of Waterloo, Canada, spent 6 weeks as visiting professor at our division. During his visit, exciting scientific collaborations on comammox and other nitrifying microbes were started, and Josh taught a great new course in the framework of our Master's curriculum in Microbial Ecology. Josh's visit had to end a bit earlier than planned due to the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, but we are very much looking forward to continuing our collaborations in the near future.
